148 Manley Road, Whalley Range, Manchester, was the home of many of my student friends. Otherwise known as the Claremont Hotel ("Claremont" was carved in the gateposts), it was the venue of many a wild party.

148 Manley Road deserves its own web site, let's see if the inspiration and time can be gathered to do it here!

For the delectation of the Manley Road connoisseur, here are some interesting artifacts!

This was the invitation for the famous party of 29th October 1976.

Was this the inspiration for Jeckyl's Brewery?

This is a scan of the original artwork for the Spud Plonk which Steve brought to the party of 29/10/78. This label was on the back of the bottle: the front label has been lost in the mists of time (but included the words "Grand Vin de Fallowfield"

Receipt for Steve's colossal Manley Road phone bill of 3 pence, initialled by Paul Griffith in July 1978.

Anybody know which year? 1978?

This was taken in Manley Road cellar. Beers from left to right: Tetley's T, Adnam's Bitter, Robinson's Bitter... and Jeckyl's?
