Primary school 1

I attended Norbreck Primary School, it must have been from ca. 1961 to 1965. I remember the headmaster, Mr. Ramsbottom, a stern fellow who was a bit of a disciplinarian.

I can remember some schoolmates too, David Flatters, Ian Clark, Karen Walker and others who I only remember by their first names. I would be interested to hear what they are doing now.

In this period my interest in aviation was kindled. In the early 60s, school days at Norbreck were often shattered (a welcome distraction for us pupils) by supersonic bangs. Looking skyward from the playground we could often discern the distinctive outline of an English Electric Lightning streaking toward the Irish Sea. I wonder if Roland Beamont and his test pilot colleagues ever realised they provided us with this kind of entertainment?
